Enterprise Content Management

Enterprise Content Management, or ECM for short, is much more than merely the management of documents. When asked in most organizations what the meaning of ECM is, the answer usually comes back with, “Well it is where we store our documents in an organised way”. When then enquiring further on this statement, most organisations store their documents on a shared drive, and different departments have specific, undefined ways of storing such documents.

In recent years, organisations have moved some of these documents to better systems where they can find the corporate, company wide, documents easier. This is in no means what ECM should be about or what ECM systems can offer organisations.

At i-Kno we believe that the correct document, for the correct business purpose, at the correct time, should be available to any employee at the click of a button. There should be no delay or difficulty in finding the correct document at any point. By implementing and customising solutions to enable organisations to achieve this goal, i-Kno is a leader in its field in making sure that employees can gain access to the right document at the right time.

To ensure that the right document are indeed captured correctly within the ECM, other compliance and processes need to exist to ensure that the right document is indeed the document that the employee will retrieve.

i-Kno helps organisations to implement ECM not only to store documents, but to ensure that the system are used by the stakeholders and that the correct policies, procedures and training are in place to make finding documents and storing documents a pleasure.
